Network & Delivery:

line

This product is only delivered on premium connections over our network or approved 3rd parties. These connections must have a low contention ratio and where shared with Internet traffic, there must be adequate bandwidth and Quality of Service (QoS).

Infrastructure:

line

Our Voice network infrastructure is located in the PIPE Networks DC2 Datacentre in Port Melbourne. The provides us with Carrier access into the public voice network, as well as ensuring that we have minimum latency on the network (not sending packets interstate or overseas) and provides us easy access to the equipment from our office.

Rates:

However we understand that businesses want an idea of our rates so we have published our entry level rates. These rates would apply to a business with 4 or Less trunk channels and a typical spend of up to $150 per month.

Frequently Asked Questions:

line

Q). Isn't this just a Voice over IP (VoIP)?

A). Yes, but not a typical VoIP service! Whilst this product uses SIP, delivering Voice over the IP network, due to the unique way we deliver the IP Voice product it cannot be compared properly to your typical VoIP service, in terms of quality and reliability. Unlike conventional VoIP, this is business grade and capable of replacing telephone lines.

line

Q). Why call it IP Voice, not VoIP?

A). In order to distinguish the superior service that our product provides we have decided to give it a name to separate it from inferior products in the market.

line

Q). Can I keep my existing telephone numbers?

A). Yes! We can port your numbers across to our IP Voice network. Note depending on the number of telephone numbers you're porting, a nominal fee may apply.

line

Q). Is it reliable?

A). Yes, as we only deliver this service over premium connections we give a quality guarantee. If you're not happy with the quality we will release you from your contract.

line

Q). Can I get IP Voice with my standard (non IP) PABX/Telephone system?

A). Yes. We can organise to install a device to convert from either PSTN or ISDN to IP Voice. However this can sometimes be expensive and we would always recommend upgrading to an IP Telephone System first.

line

Q). What IP Telephone Systems are compatible?

A). Essentially any that support the vendor neutral SIP Protocol Trunking. We currently have our service working with Cisco, Asterisk and Grandstream devices to name a few.

line

Q). Is my internet connection compatible or do I need to upgrade?

A). It depends on the type of connection you have. If you are only pay between $50 and $150 per month for your internet service, you will not be able to run IP Voice using it. You will require either a dedicated IP Voice line from us or a premium grade internet connection.

line

Q). Are the dedicated lines for IP Voice cost effective?

A). Yes, very! If we need to deliver a dedicated line this is done via ADSL or in certain cases SHDSL or EFM. As the only data on the line is for voice it means that data never leaves our network, si the charge is quite nominal.

line

Q). If we connect two offices to IP Voice do they get free calls between them?

A).Generally we recommend that businesses connect offices directly rather than through our infrastructure, which we provide consulting services for this type of solution. This allows businesses to get the most out of their IP PABX's and keeps our infrastructure profitable. However we can review this policy on a case by case basis.
